Just Stevie???

Happy September Ya'll!! September is always a huge month in our household what with Brayden's birthday, my birthday and also our anniversary but I also needed to have our monthly photo shoot, see told you busy. Anyway my idea for this months shoot was to pay homage to the fantastic Stevie Nicks. You all must know Stevie... she was a member of the group Fleetwood Mac back in the day as well as an amazing solo artist. A lot of the Reps know about her because of her guest appearance on American Horror Story: Coven. I have always been a big fan of Ms. Nicks and I thought this would be a great tribute for the girls and I to do. Since this is a shoot with a boho vibe I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous Forest Park and show off these beautiful girls. The girls were able to do a bit of research on Stevie and were able to channel her coolness in their own boho hippy vibe. I love this shoot and only wish I could share it with her greatness Stevie Nicks. Enjoy!!!!

  

Back to school - Making Movie Magic

Hey guys thanks for coming back!! We had so much fun on this shoot. (shoot we always have fun HA!) I happened across this meme on pinterest showing school themed movies from different era's. Here let me show you....

pretty cool huh? After seeing this I decided that it would be so cool to do my own rendition of this. So many other photographers do a back to school shoot and I thought let's take it up a notch and portray the movies. The girls and Adam really got into it. I found it odd that several of the kids had never seen Heathers or Clueless so I made it a point to get them to watch the movies. I think it really helps to get them into character. Here is a list of the girls and what character they are portraying.

It's a Retro Thing

Hello lovelies!!!  I am so excited to bring you this shoot.  As a lot of you know my shoots always start out as one thing and usually end up somewhere else. While this drives me completely nuts I have to go with the flow and get things done lol. This shoot was originally titled the Usherette's and portrayed the 1920's - 1930's cigarette girls, during the planning process I loved the theme but really didn't think it was appropriate to portray young girls selling cigarettes so we tweaked it a bit. I also had more girls in this shoot than was originally planned and there are just so many shots you can do and make them original so we decided to split the girls up some would be usherettes and others would portray 50's waitresses. It worked out great and as usual the girls rocked it! We got permission to do the shoot here in Granite City at the cutest retro book store called Novel Ideas Bookstore & More in downtown Granite. They were so generous and allowed us to come in on their day off to get the shots.  So thank you Novel Ideas for this great opportunity! Enjoy the pics!
