Ha Ha Tonka (part 1)

Hey everyone I am so excited for you to see these amazing pictures.  This shoot was planned quite a while ago and it was supposed to be a couples shoot based off of a few of my favorite book couples, but it just wasn't meant to be.  This shoot evolved several times until we decided to just wing it and see what we could get.. Yep we got magic!!  We took a fun weekend trip up to the Lake of the Ozarks and I found this amazing site called Ha Ha Tonka State Park.  This park is a hiker's dream but it has the ruins of an amazing castle and that is where our story takes place.  I wanted a soft feminine look but I also wanted a cool tough vibe and I really think the girls rocked it!  The girls had such a good time and so did I.  Check out the pics and let me know what you think...
p.s. this is the feminine look the cool tough look will follow

Hailey Dupo HS Senior

I finally get to show you one of my favorite Reps beautiful senior portraits.  Hailey really wanted her whole senior year to be represented in her senior session so she opted to be one of the girls to have what I call a seasonal session. Each season Hailey and I went out and tried to show the season as a side of her personality.  Sometimes it worked and sometimes not so much, lol... But the important thing is that we got beautiful shots that show who she is, oh and we had a lot of fun as well.  Hailey is on the dance team at Dupo HS and has been involved with dance for most of her life she hopes to continue to pursue dance while she is in college as well.  Please enjoy her pics and let her know what you think of them.

December Rep Shoot (Well it should have been anyway)

December Rep Shoot
(Mother Nature's Daughters)

December poses a major challenge not only is it cold I have to be cognisant of protecting my equipment and also my girls while shooting, which is why we have had to postpone the shoot until April LOL.  Initially this shoot was supposed to take place at Ha Ha Tonka State Park but I found out about Creve Coeur Lake during a fun senior shoot and I just had to go back there again and this shoot really was the perfect opportunity to do so.  There is this great wooded area with a fun waterfall and an amazing story behind it so I thought what a great backdrop to tell my fun story.

I decided that I needed to limit the amount of girls going with me and man the competition between the girls was intense. It seems all of them wanted to be in this amazing shoot but four is the number I decided on and four it was going to be.  This shoot was going to be simple and yet very conceptual.  The idea was for the girls to wear a gown and an over the top head piece and be the daughters of Mother Nature and each daughter represents a season.  The sisters can only meet up once a year on the Winter's Solstice (yeah we had to fudge that).  I wrote a little poem about the shoot and I hope you like it and the pictures.

The daughters of nature
 seasonal sisters four
meet once a year to gab and report

The long winters day
the solstice of winter
finds the sisters meeting together

They show off their season
in fashion in color
and try very hard to impress one another

Winter she turns so sparkling so bright
she knows how to show her colors her might

Spring is audacious
 so bold so true
the sister of rebirth she awakens the new

Summer is mellow
no lion no lamb
working her magic all over the land

Autumn that girl so bold
wakens with fire from her head to her toes

The sisters who really love one another
have to make this day special like no other

 They dance and they sing
they hold hands and whisper
creating a bond that will last all the year long

The longest day of the year comes to a close
the sisters embrace and hold one another

They will miss their time together
but know in their hearts it will not be forever
