It's a Retro Thing

Hello lovelies!!!  I am so excited to bring you this shoot.  As a lot of you know my shoots always start out as one thing and usually end up somewhere else. While this drives me completely nuts I have to go with the flow and get things done lol. This shoot was originally titled the Usherette's and portrayed the 1920's - 1930's cigarette girls, during the planning process I loved the theme but really didn't think it was appropriate to portray young girls selling cigarettes so we tweaked it a bit. I also had more girls in this shoot than was originally planned and there are just so many shots you can do and make them original so we decided to split the girls up some would be usherettes and others would portray 50's waitresses. It worked out great and as usual the girls rocked it! We got permission to do the shoot here in Granite City at the cutest retro book store called Novel Ideas Bookstore & More in downtown Granite. They were so generous and allowed us to come in on their day off to get the shots.  So thank you Novel Ideas for this great opportunity! Enjoy the pics!

And the Winner is???

Hey there everyone! I had this crazy idea that I would enter my work in a cover contest with The Senior Collective. The winner would have the chance to have their work featured as TSC cover image on all of their social media accounts. The July theme was of course focused on the fourth of July or on summer. I knew I had some great images that I could have shared but I wanted something new and so I put the call out to the Reps to see who was free on short notice and would want to hang out making beautiful images. Kirstyn, Ashley and Bay were all free and so we set out to see what we could find in the way of summer or fourth inspired images. We really did get some amazing shots and with my new editing style I think we made some magic. Please Enjoy!!!

Oh and this was the image I entered. I guess we will see if it wins or not.

The Mermaid Life

Hey all I am so excited to bring these images to you. Last year we did a go away shoot and the girls had such a good time that we decided to do it again this year. I knew I would need an epic theme and so the girls and I agreed that portraying mermaids would be amazing! So after deciding on the theme I had to find an equally amazing location and it was not an easy find let me tell you. Initially I wanted this beautiful place called Alley Springs Mill, and while this place is gorgeous it just wasn't the right fit for several reasons. After looking around and searching the net I finally found The Fugitive Beach in Rolla MO. I contacted the owners of Fugitive Beach and they were so welcoming and said that they would love to have us come in. I was relieved to finally find a location that would make this dream come true. We were able to go into the beach before they opened and the girls and I had a beautiful morning to shoot and really even with the time crunch we were under we felt relaxed and got the shots we needed. These are truly my favorite pics I have ever done and I am so grateful for all the help and generosity of everyone involved. Enjoy!!

Lily GCHS Senior

Hey everyone I wanted to share with you some amazing images of and equally amazing girl.  Lily is a 2017 Senior and has been on the Granite City High School dance team forever lol.  She is a Rep for me and as sweet as she is quiet.  I have seen her sassy side pop out occasionally though which is always a nice thing to see.  Lily wants to be a cosmetologist when she graduates and hopefully I can talk her into doing hair and makeup for me one day.  Enjoy her pics I know she loved them.

Lily recently graduated and we were able to take a few shots of her in her cap and gown. I am excited for her and so ready to see how her life shapes up!!!
